Matti Sankamo
Partner, Attorney-at-Law, Master of Laws with Court Training, Author
Matti Sankamo has handled several of Finland’s most high-profile court proceedings. He focuses, among other things, on demanding financial crime matters and commercial disputes before general courts and in arbitration proceedings. Matti also specialises in matters concerning offences related to freedom of expression.
Matti is exceptionally strong in legal argumentation and has the ability to find solutions to complex problems. His working method includes a thorough examination of the background of the matter and its legal framework before any initial steps are taken. For this reason, we recommend contacting Matti at a very early stage in order to assess potential risks.
Before joining Almgren & Sankamo, Matti worked in the court system, particularly as a referendary at a Court of Appeal. Matti regularly takes part in interviews and other media appearances as a legal expert. He has also written several articles on legal topics and a non-fiction book on the legal regulation of freedom of expression.
