Matias Oikarinen
Senior Associate, Attorney-at-Law
Matias specialises in company law, corporate arrangements and company law disputes. He assists our clients in matters including mergers and acquisitions, financing arrangements, shareholder agreements, general meetings and other company law issues. He also has extensive experience in commercial court proceedings concerning, among other things, disputes relating to mergers and acquisitions, liability issues concerning company management, share redemption disputes, shareholder agreements and recovery claims.
Matias has also participated in legislative drafting in the field of company law, serving as secretary to working groups concerning the reform of the Limited Liability Companies Act and the Co-operatives Act in 2024–2025, as well as cross-border corporate arrangements in 2021–2022. Matias also played a key role in preparing the 2020 VN TEAS report commissioned by the Prime Minister’s Office on the need for amendments to the Limited Liability Companies Act. In addition, Matias has published articles on company law in leading legal journals in the field.
Before joining Almgren & Sankamo, Matias worked at other leading Finnish law firms, focusing in particular on company law, securities markets law and corporate arrangements. During his career, Matias has assisted several listed companies and growth companies in connection with matters such as listings, public tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, and other restructurings.

- Successfully assisted a Finnish green technology start-up company in a dispute concerning the transfer of shares and a related claim for damages. The District Court dismissed all claims brought against our client.
